Story does not even mention if she tried to stop the 'runaway car'

 

I sometimes wonder if there was only ever a finite amount of common sense in this world and as populations have increased there is less to share round. I hope the utility company that owns the pole she hit gives her the bill for replacement.

 

If you listen to her story, there is much that needs to be clarified.

First, she claims that she was on the 911 call for "1 and a half minutes."

You would assume that she initiated this 911 call once her car started to accelerate out of control while on the freeway (i.e. the call was initiated at some speed well above 0 MPH, presumably 60 or 65 MPH)

The car started at 60-65 MPH and accelerated "out of control" for 1.5 minutes. A honda civic accelerates from 60 MPH to what in 90 seconds?

One would expect her to be going at least 70...80...90 MPH with 90 seconds of presumably full throttle acceleration.

The picture of her crash - is it consistent with going 70, 80, 90 MPH? Are her "minor bruises" consistent with jumping out of a vehicle going 80+ MPH?

She never mentioned a speed at any point during her interview.

But she did implicitly mention the car accelerating out of control for 1.5 minutes. Even from 0 MPH, to what speed will a honda civic accelerate to from even 0 MPH in 90 seconds? It gets from 0 to 60 MPH in 11-12 seconds.

She had the parking brake on. Did that simply slow down the unintended acceleration?

I want to know at what speed she was going when she initiated the 911 call, and at what speed she was going when she bailed out of the car.

Her minor bruises appear to suggest that the car could not have been moving that fast when she bailed. Is this consistent with a WOT civic with parking brake engagement? That's what I want to know.

 

Insurance fraud.

 

I wonder what she learn from "the childhood lesson from her dad" to prompt her to jump out of a car instead of putting it to neutral and stepping on the brake.

Well, obviously her bicycle was accelerating wildly out of control, so what else could she do but learn how to tuck and roll?

You guys are missing the point here. A young woman's life was put in danger! I demand that Honda now offer massive discounts and free financing on all their models as compensation.

 

Great, another nominees for Darwin award today beside the women that street racing with four kids in the car.

 

Had she mastered that face-plant at speed, should maybe could of angled the plastic surgery being covered.
