Seriously what the hell are they doing to this game to delay it a month before its intended release? It should be gold by now shouldn't it?
Games of GT5's magnitude often go gold more than a month before street release date, so I was surprised by the announcement as well. I'm going to venture that they had a lot more problems than expected in their final debugging and test stages and made the call to delay indefinitely.

So according to gtplanet, the game IS gold. Missed the production deadline by 3 days and therefore Sony is delaying production of the game. Others speculate Sony can't pump out enough blu-rays to keep up with demand for this game by November.
Basically, to answer my previous question, the game wasn't delayed because of the software.
