Spy Shots: Facelifted 2012 Nissan GT-R

Look closely and use a bit of imagination and it's obvious that Nissan is upgrading the GT-R's front and rear fascias for the 2012 model year.
The changes are slight, but they deserve noting. Particularly the new rear bumper, integrated diffuser and sharper flares aft of the rear wheels. The front grille has been revised with a more horizontal opening than the previous model and with camo covering the side intakes, it's obvious that the bumper is going to be benefit from a slight restyling.
Our spies caught both a standard GT-R and its SpecV sibling at the Nurburgring, so it appears that these changes will carry over to both models. Expect an official reveal sometime this fall.

I feel you bro. That car does nothing for me (visually at least). I mean It's a beast and Nissan put some serious work in creating it. But design wise.....I'm good. The Z and G35/37 IMO are far more attractive from an aesthetic standpoint.

I don't care how ugly a car is if it lets me go from 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds for approximately $85,000.
Plus it's not even ugly. The pontiac aztek is ugly. The newest generation Acura TL is ugly. The 2011 Honda Odyssey is ugly.
The GT-R is not ugly. It may not have the sleekest lines. It's certainly not the most aesthetically pleasing car in the Nissan/Infiniti family, but "ugly" to me is an overstatement, although I fully recognize that it's purely a subjective matter. That's my take, anyway.

LOL Just get bike and pocket the rest. Same rush and you'll look better doing it.
And no the GTR is by no means Aztek ugly. That would be blasphemy.

Yeah, it boggles the mind that Porsche can stuff an AWD 480 HP monster in a sleek, more compact design and Nissan comes out with a behemoth that is anything but sleek. Are the Nissan designers trying to compensate?

I tend to favor small updates that show more of an evolution more than a full-on redesign. While the GT-R is not very photogenic, in general, I tend to think it does look better in person.
