It is one ugly looking thing so no. The front overhang is ridiculous.

Hehe

We were also observing that one as well:

In any case:
Personally, it would depend on how the hybrid set-up would be executed (and yeah, what will it offer sorta speak). I'll wait-and-see on the final product.

Still though, if we're comparing the regular versions, then I think the Fit/Jazz (GE) is a neat buy.......and I'd definitely take one over the current Vitz/Yaris Hatch anytime.

Two cents

IF it gets 70mpg for anywhere around $20k, it'll be in my garage. But I'm highly skeptical of those rumors...

If I were looking at the Fit class type cars and seriously considering a Fit, the Hybrid version would no doubt be my choice. $17K for this class of car is dirt cheap today. Seriously, most cars of any type now days cost over $20K. Even loaded Camry's and Accord's can cost over $30K. Getting almost any car under $20K is a good price IMHO.

I think the question probably should have been asked: IF you were shopping a Fit type of car, would you consider ________________________ (which CK6Speed actually answered).

I think a lot of us are just not the person who's going to shop that type of car.

I wouldn't pay 17k for a fit unless you put the keys and title to a new accord in the glovebox.

Today's actual MSRP's NOT counting $720 destination charge...

Base Manual.......$14,900
Base Auto..........$15,700
Sport Manual.......$16,410
Sport Auto..........$17,260
Sport w/Nav........$19,110

And they think they can offer a hybrid for $17K?

Funny how many of us laugh at $17K for a HYBRID Fit when a regular Sport with nav is just shy of $20K.

Uhh... no, I'd rather have my car. Much cheaper too, even though the mpg might not be as good.

Honda tried marketing an Accord Hybrid and, like the 2Gen Insight, it just didn't sell. It cost more than a regular Accord, yet had pretty the same mileage, performance, and road manners.

There has yet to actually be a "successful" Honda hybrid. Pretty sad. Every single one of them have sold relatively poorly. Perhaps the Civic hybrid has been the only worthwhile one actually beating the dedicated hybrid Insight's MPG.

While every Toyota hybrid offering has succeeded.

Yes, the Civic Hybrid, far and away, has done better than any other Honda-sourced hybrid, but that is probably also a factor of itself just being part of the huge-selling Civic line, which racks up enormous sales numbers every year. The Civic line, BTW, includes not only a hybrid but a natural-gas-burning GX version as well, though it is only available in certain parts of the country.

Not quite. Nationwide, it's still a little too early to tell with the Lexus HS250...and, in this area, it doesn't seem to be doing that well. It's getting a lot of competition from the other two entry-level Lexus models (IS and ES), though, of course, the HS trumps them both in gas mileage.
