If you consider some of the posts "junk", then, instead of criticizing, come up with some suggestions or reasons of your own as to what is causing it.
I know what OP said. I just commented that we should see if any of the tire dressing was on bodywork too. Then you went into your mudflap theory.

I already did comment and agreed with most here that it was tire dressing.

And on and on we go........ Sorry OP, for creating more junk to sift through.

Caramoe - Hopefully you washed the car by now (include thorough cleaning of wheels/tires to get rid of excess tire dressing) and are again checking for further "leakage" or fluids on tire/wheels. Best of luck and welcome!

Guys...cut Mike some slack would ya? He's just trying to help.

It might be tire dressing or it could be grease fom a balljoint. But noone suggested leaking brake calipers yet. The seals around the pistons could be bad (or been torn by a tech during his last brake job of the day, or lines could be corroded/leaking...

I hope, for your wallets sake...its tire gel...

If it's a dark rusty brown color it is probably rusty water stains dripping from internally vented brake rotors. Plating the rotors prevents this.
