Animal-based commercials seem to be getting more common....they play on people's emotions. Nissan, for example, had the dog-based commercials a few years ago.

Mt brother, BTW, (who is not a CL member) thanks you all for your responses. Depending on his situation with the new roomate, he may be ready for some serious shopping shortly.

one of my wifes staff members purchased a Soul and she loves it so far. She has only had the car for 2 months but goes on and on about how much she like the car

Would you be willing to pay full-list (or more) for a Fiesta, with few if any incentives? This is probably going to be a hot-selling car for awhile (especially the hatchback), and I don't think dealerships will be negotiating much. With a brand-new, high-demand/short-supply model, Gotta-Have often means Gotta-Pay.

Well.....a done deal.
My brother and I went shopping today....after several test-drives of Soul Plus and Exclaim (!) models, he picked out a black Plus model.
I didn't recommend Black, which is hot in the sun and hard to keep clean, but only certain colors were available in the Plus model....and he thought the black was smart-looking. The color he liked best (Dune) was available only on the Exclaim (!) model, but he and I both agreed the Exclaim model had more features that he needed...or wanted to pay for.
We were both very pleased with the deal....only 15K after factory rebates, plus tax. That includes automatic, Air conditioning, full-power package, ABS, traction/stability control, and an optional premium stereo system with the Speaker-Glow package and satellite radio. Also the long Hyundai/Kia 10/100 and 5/60 warranty. Kia, especially the lower-line models, really gives you a lot for your money.
We're going to pick it up tomorrow evening. He may decide he wants some factory-approved accessories, but we'll get the basic sale done then.
So, he and I thank you all for your responses. He should be set for the next several years, at least.....his last Impeza went 10 years, and this seems to be a reasonably well-built vehicle, too.
I myself still like Subarus, though......THAT hasn't changed.

Congrat's to your brother!! That speaker glow package will probably be what he shows people first when they see the car. LOL I know my friend couldn't wait to bump some tunes so we could see it. Again, please tell your brother congratulations and to enjoy his new ride.

Wow, nice deal on the Kia Soul. I like the practical style of this and XB's, but that's just personal taste. I must of missed this, when I was up in Canada.
How's he like it after the first week or so?

They were willing to give it to him for a little over 15K...plus tax/tags, but he wanted the bumper-to-bumper 10/100K warranty (standard is 5/60, with 10/100 on the drivetrain) and some dealer-installed acessories. That, of course, drove the list up some more.
Are you kidding? I'm afraid to look at the front of his pants.
Of course, statistics show the average length of a love affair with the average new car, nationwide, is about two years. That's also about what he has shown in the past with his other cars, although he showed affection for his old Subaru longer than that, because it got him through a lot of bad weather.
