I'll gladly be the odd man. BOOORRRRRIIINNNGGGG!!! The stock wheels look better than this. Its like they added wheels just to say "hey, added wheels". As someone else stated, it doesnt make a statement at all.

I was going to say the exact same thing.
These pictures are horrible
The R8 is very sleek and this makes it look like the pudgy TT.

I don't really care for those wheels. The remind me of BMW CSL wheels, well more so the knock-offs.

I agree that no-lip wheels are the norm and have always been. It's the lipped wheels that go in-and-out of style. When they came back in this time, the lips were bigger than at previous outings.
I happen to prefer lips because it looks more custom to me. No-lipped wheels look stock. Why would I spend big bucks to look stock.

I think lipped wheels will stay in style this time. There's a place for both. Some like the understated look. Some like the custom look.

clean looking R8, though, as MPLexus301 said, it did look like a roided up TT in some of the first pics.
