Default Lexus will lose my loyalty sooner or later

I've bought three Lexus car/SUV so far, but I'm pretty much done with Lexus, because I don't think Lexus dealer honors its old customer that much.

Here is my story, I went to Bellevue Lexus to buy GS 350 AWD, and trade in my 07 ES350 UL. My car has excellent condition, and is much cleaner than the CPO ones in dealer's parking lot, even the sales person agreed that.

But they only give me fair condition trade-in value, I even get excellent trade-in value from MB, what's the point of Lexus?

I'm tired of playing the negotiation games with them, I haven't decide MB or BMW yet, but I'm pretty much done with Lexus.

I know it shouldn't come to this, but you can get the written trade-in estimate from the MB dealer and present it to the Lexus dealer....or personally I'd try a different Lexus dealer.

There out to make a profit. just because you dont get the price you want doesnt mean theres something wrong with lexus.... you could sell the car independently and get the money.

Did they have give you the business about having to run it through a bunch of expensive inspections that the other (non Lexus) dealers wouldn't have to? IIRC my friend's sister got lowballed when trying to trade in her super clean, low mileage IS a few years ago and that was the explanation then.

Try a different dealer. You bought 3 cars from them do you also service the cars there? I would ask to speak to a manager or even the owner and present your story.

Don't give up that easily. I agree that many dealers and salesmen at luxury dealers (BMW, Benz, Lexus) are so damn used to the "easy" sale (I want that one and that color don't care about anything else) that many don't know or care to work for the sale.

Most of the time you have to talk to the superior to get any favorable results.

I totally feel you on the negotiations. They are usually going to low ball you and give you the BS excuse that its just the way it works.

I cant stand car sales. Its just stress, and it ruins the fun of buying a new car. My Lexus sales experience buying my GS was the worst car sales experience that I have ever had by far. I will admit that the sales experince that I had mixed with the only decent reliability of my GS will make me look at other brands next time. I dont know if i will leave but I will look

It depends on your relationship and the dealer. My wife and I were laughing the entire time and joking around with her car purchase and we got a smoking deal. My couisin just bought another Lexus, an ES from them and I went with them and it was totally stress free and they threw in tons of goodies. Funny she was texting me today explaining how good her experience was.

It would be great if the OP shared more details here. If they are not satisfactory then he should escalate. A good salesman makes all the difference. Also they might initially lowball on the trade-in, bring your ammo and be prepared to explain why you want more. Also if your trade is low, they can drop more cash off the price of the car and that is a way to get the price you want.

OP are you dealing with the same salesman?

wouldn't you agree that the sales environment is probably a bit more friendly than it was back in 2007 when I bought my car??? I think the sales guys now a days are hard up for a sale. The Toyota guys and Acura guys seemed very willing to do what was needed to make a deal ( still have not got the wife her new SUV yet)

Its hard for me to be sweeping in judgement as I've had good/bad/amazing experiences depending on dealer and their personnel.

There is a local Lexus dealer I would never recommend or buy a car from on the Southside here. Horrendous, unethical and feels cheap. There are some that meet my expectations. My dealer at Hennessy lexus of Gwinnett is INCREDIBLE. I literally drive by 2 other dealers to give them my business. My GS 400 was bought from another Lexus dealer and they will never see my money again.

My recent Acura experience was ridiculous, they acted like they were some hot item and insulted Lexus the entire time. In the past when I knew the GM there things were different.

My Benz, BMW, Audi experiences are completely hit or miss and rarely anything in between.

I do agree with you I have noticed an increase in company concern about customer relationships and happiness from McDonalds to Financial Institutions which was lacking during the unregulated anyone can buy a house and car heyday of most of the decade. That goodness b/c it was obvious treating the customer well was lacking.

yeah...... the Acura guys were a damn joke. I couldnt even get the salesman to return my calls promptly. I got into an argument with his stupid *** and told him he lost my business. Instead of trying to apologize and save the deal he starts telling me " well it makes up for all for the times you didnt call me back right away". I told the guy that I am with patients all day long. I dont have the type of job where I am reachable because I sit at a desk next to phone. I then told him to goto hell. The frustrating thing is the wife still wants an MDX instead of the highlander hybrid so I have to go to the other side of town to make a deal. Its worth it to get a good deal from a professional group of people.

PS I also went on as many consumer notification web sites and bad mouthed the dealership to everyone I could get to listen or would allow me to post. Acura of Peoria sucks

I don't think the dealership should make the difference of which type of car you choose; however, each person will make choices based on their own preferences, so if trade in value at the dealer is something you value I guess that will make the difference.

to trade in the car for another car at the dealership has always seemed like a bad idea from my perspective. id rather take the time to market my car and do a private sale and try to make more from that sale. it might take longer depending on the car, but to me its better than the opportunity cost of simply trading it in at the dealer.

^that's what i do too.

all dealers act differently. two different lexus dealers treat people differently here. one ignores you(richmond). the one i use(regency), i have pretty much only good things to say about them.

have you tried lexus of seattle?
