Infiniti JX Compact Crossovers to Expand Nissan's Luxury Lineup
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ry-lineup.html
Infiniti appears ready to launch a line of compact luxury crossovers that will wear the JX badge. While not confirmed, the luxury division of Nissan Motor Co. has filed for trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for four separate cars names: JX20, JX25, JX25h and JX30.
While moving up the alphabet would seem to indicate the models would be larger than the EX or FX, the engine displacement signified by the numbers in each name definitely points toward a compact model, with the X signifying all-wheel drive – or at least a crossover. One possibility is that this new model could be based on the newly released Nissan Juke, although other sources indicate the JX will be based on the upcoming Mercedes B-Class platform.
The partnership with Mercedes would also likely extend to the engines. Mercedes is set to supply Infiniti with a range of 4 and 6-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. As for the JX25, it could use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder from Nissan or a 2.5-liter version of the VQ motor. As for the JX25h, that would most certainly indicate a hybrid.
In the past, Infiniti has trademarked the WX35, PX35 and DX35 in a bid to make sure it had the names lined up in case models were delivered. In those cases, no vehicle ever materialized. The case for the JX, however, seems much stronger – especially with the BMW 1 Series and Audi Q3 on the horizon.

Lexus trademarked "JX" a while back...I guess they let it expire. Also, interesting to see them add "h" to their cars, just like Lexus. I wonder if that's a trademark infringement...? Probably not, just like the varieties of "i", "t", and "s" that seem to grace so many models now adays.

Indeed, I thought of that also when seeing this news. A quick check:
They didn't renew it over a year ago...I wonder then what a future Lexus cute-ute might be named. CT/CX? Who knows, but Infiniti seems to be taking the cast-off letters (EX instead of RX; JX, etc). But they did have the J30 way back then, another cancelled model...in Canada Nissan was barred from marketing the M in ways that may confuse with BMW.

Wow, copy Lexus with hybrids then copy Lexus with the same (#)$#) name? Are they serious? SMH...... I'm all for hybrids but please do your own thing (specs on the M35 hybrid look pretty good so far)
I hope this is wrong info, they already have more SUVs than cars, the Japanese Jeep DOES NOT need ANOTHER SUV. This has to be wrong.
Surely this is the Leaf based car? Or the 2 door 370Z rebadge we heard may come?
It cannot be another crossover. I don't believe it. The EX and FX already sell horridly.
They can have "JX" sounds just as silly as the rest of worst names of the alphabet they have. Only ZDX sounds worse.
I can't believe it.
