Ford 5.0 V8 crate engine on sale for $6,999
http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-5-0...-for-6999.html
If you’re feeling a little blue because you bought a 2010 Mustang with the now-dropped 4.6-liter V8, you’re in luck. The 5.0-liter “Coyote” V8 that recently debuted in the 2011 Ford Mustang GT will go on sale later this month as a crate motor.
For $6,999, Ford Racing will be happy to sell a crate 5.0 as part number M-6007-M50. Rated at the same 412 ponies and 390 lb-ft. of torque as the 5.0 in the 2011 Mustang GT, the V8 weighs a reasonable 444 lbs.
Interested buyers can place an order at any Ford dealership in the U.S. for deliveries beginning August 15.

Interesting what happens to the old 4.6? Does the owner keep or will ford offer to buy it for parts or scrap? I wish Lexus would give F owners of buying the LFA motor...LOL

Nice!
OT: I was thinking VW should offer 1/4th the size of Veyron SS engine.
4.1L Inline-4 Supercharged 300 hp. Not sure how that would sound, but it be interesting to see or 2.5L Inline-5 NA 262 hp engine (seeing the Jetta engine uses the same parts from a Gallardo but its half the size and detuned)

That seems pretty reasonable for that motor.
Comparatively, this is what I was quoted for Chev engines up here a couple of weeks ago.
LS7 7.0l engine $18825.00 19244098 must come from USA
LS9 19244099 $28450.75 must come from USA

If someone is that hard up for a 5.0, they would probably be better off trading the car in, plus the 4.6 has plenty of aftermarket, and what about the trans, if that is the route someone is gonna go, ebay has way better options, easily build a supra or 300zx for 20k that will blow the doors off a 5.0 mustang
