I've thought about doing a Renegade Hybrid V8 conversion on a 914 for a long time. Maybe one of these days...

Someone who owns a 750 with a blown engine. That pushrod pos might be a WHOLE lot cheaper and easier to maintain without a great deal of loss in real-world performance.

The 5.0 conversion for the Miata has been around forever - but the Corvette engine, now that's tasty!
Those cars are pretty fun in stock form, I can't imagine one with 300-400hp. I'd need a separate budget for tires!!

My friend's dad had a 5.0/302 in a Miata and that all it did, spin. Did hook up worth a damn but once it did, well... damn. haha
I haven't seen too may V8s swapped into 240SXs or 300ZXz though. I've seen a LSx here and there but didn't think there were a lot of them. I'm a little surprised by some of the cars here. I always wanted to do a SB 240Z though.

That was the car that made this whole concept famous to start with....stuffing a big-iron American V8 into a small, foreign package....in this case, British.
Later Triumphs (TR7, TR8), used small, aluminum Buick V8s straight from the factory, without any need for conversion, but, of course, it was not the same effect as the AC Cobra.
