executive matchup
You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out,
You put your right foot in,
And you shake it all about,
You do the hokey pokey
and you turn yourself around
That what it's all about.

I think people just think that what we're "use to" is a good thing and should not be changed. The traditional two pedal is actually not good from both an accident and slight time delay from gas-to-brake standpoint. I don't find this idea that bad, except for the application of the gas being a turning motion. It's naturally easier to rest and go with gravity on any pedal, than to turn your feet, resulting in stress on the ankle as well as your knees.
I had always thought that a single pedal with brake down and gas up could work. So, you have one single pedal with a toe "cap" or some sort of catch that your shoe or whatever rides in. You press down to brake (as normal) but to accelerate you lift up with your toe. It could work quite well in conjunction with cruise control.

I dunno that giving them this type of pedal is going to make it better tho. I think you'd end up with a lot of randomly stopped cars and that's not a good thing either (but I guess if they're not moving they can't hit anything).
All in all I think I'm w. 1SICK on this one, less people should have DLs
