Sales have improved since launch, I doubt an Infiniti is gonna suddenly take the place of the 5 overnight, I see it like this.

5 series is the king, people over pay just to say I have a BMW

E Class is popular, rides soft, prefer it over the stiff BMW ride

A6, my lease was up on my BMW so I wanted to try something different

GS, is cheapest of the bunch, you find the same type of people driving GS as those driving Nissan Frontiers, they could not swing for the Tacoma so they stepped down, and to mention the previous GS was way better

M, same category as the GS, but it's new and they think it's worth more so they do the retarded price hike, give it a full year like the 09 Maxima, slow sales followed by normal prices and incentives and then it will move

IS-SV is right here.

Sales have barely improved, maybe 100-200 units tops improvement since launch. We are seeing the QX56 sell as well as it and that NEVER happened with the last model.

GS is not cheapest of the bunch. Then if we go to leasing, nothing leases like a BMW or Infiniti. Hell there are banners here for $579 a month for a M37.

What we know is the new M37/56 is selling at 1/2 the rate first year to first year as the M35/45. That is not good. The 5/E are selling 75-100% of their first year rates compared to previous models.

So its not the economy, its the car. Maybe the addition of the M35 hybrid will help but if its a limited production car like the GS 450h is don't expect a huge spike in sales.

Whats the point of creating and selling a car just to add massive discounts? This kills image, resale and dealer profits and damages dealer/corporate relationships.

The car is alright, but lets be honest, its not MB nor BWM. Releasing the M the same year with MB E and BWM 5 series is what hurting the sales I think. Maybe the sales would not be so bad if they've released the car last year or the next year.

The new M hasn't grown on me yet. Sometimes I like it, othert times I don't.
Definitely don't like the all polished wheel.

I like the body style, and like that I can tell it's an Infiniti just by the grille shape.

But ... those big wheels look clownish to me. I don't get the big wheel craze in general. Why handicap performance and ride quality for a certain "look"?
