I wouldn't doubt it.

I mean, the M3 is excellent, but the new 335is is superb for a V6 that functions better for everyday driving.

$60K for a 3 series?

There are better ways to spend that money, IMO.

Nice looking car.

The extra HP ummph does not look like it make the car any faster?

Maybe its just them testing it.

Its hard to pay 60+k for a 3 series without a M badge on it.

Haven't driven the very latest version, but I fully agree that the last 335 was probably the best Bimmer sedan/coupe for the money, especially the xi AWD version (I've said so numerous times), though the 550i was also quite impressive. The 550, of course, costs substantially more.

The last RWD 335i I drove was 47K list.......a long way from 60K. In fact, the last M3 I drove was 63K list.....and, for street driving, I felt the 335 was a far better buy for the money. The M3, of course, is more hard-edged and probably does better on the track....I found its suspension a little stiff for everyday bumpy roads. The last 335, though trailing the M3 in HP by 414 to 305, actually beat the M3 in torque (at a lower RPM)....305 to 295.

Good article, for many the ultimate sporting 3 series as it should be at that price.

^^^ lol on last 3 posts, but I think it will replace the Prius as the common commuter car in SF bay area.

Weird 60k cars that compete with higher end variants.

A5 soft top convertible with a 4 cylinder. 62k tested
IS C F-sport. 60k tested
335is. 59k tested

Not many will be bought for that price but to some people its worth it.

You know it's funny you mentioned that. I would so want a 320d as my commuter car. That would be super sweet. I am tired of getting 14mpg.

It doesn't have a v6. BMW likes inline motors.

The 335iS is an absolute joke and anybody who pays $60K for one over an M3 sedan has absolutely no concept of value.

The M3 is better in every way (barring maybe gas mileage) and costs little more - relatively speaking.

Of course by the same token, I also think a $60k IS-C F-sport is an absolute joke. Anybody who buys that over an IS-F similarly has little concept of value.

I think the 335i is one of the best small cars I have ever driven. Its handling, brakes, interior, looks, and reputation are hard to beat. Its no wonder its the target for any manufacturer that makes a mid size sports sedan
