Have you ever wondered how JC fits in some of the cars?

I would not mind sporting a V8 Esprit. Looking forward to how this relationship evolves.

Will that now change with this new agreement? Doubt it. Sounds like some serious engineering together.
I was referring to a couple of posts previous to mine. I wasn't sure if I was missing something--not that it would matter to me personally if Lotus did actually use the LEXUS LFA engine in one of their cars.

Exciting possibilities lie ahead, I hope.

Great to hear, I am extremely curious what engines these will be.

Also yes, the Lotus F1 team is supposed to get Renault engines and gearboxes for two years.

HRT racing is supposed to use Toyota's 2010 F1 car design as the basis for their 2011 car, and possibly Toyota engines although I'm not sure about the engine part.

I believe the reason why Lotus doesn't use the DI engines is because the DI engines are used in a longitudinal layout and because the Lotus cars are rear engined and RWD they use a transverse rear mount setup. Something about not being able to fit the DI engines in transversely.

might be, i very much doubt it was the "they use Toyota and not Lexus engines" case... it is all the same when it comes to deals like this.

At the same time, I have 0 belief that Lotus does any of actual tuning of the engines.

I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. The difference between toyota's DI and non-di engines is mostly in the head.

Then you've not been following the Elise very well. Lotus retuned the 2ZZ to their specs. They have access to Toyota's engine management development software. We just need to convince someone there to release a sample copy...
