Aston-Martin One-77 world's most powerful normally-aspirated road car? [w/video]

Aston Martin continues to march forward with its One-77. The soon-to-be-ultra-rare hypercar is closer than ever to production, and according to the minds behind its creation, when it hits the street, it will boast the world's most powerful naturally-aspirated production car engine. With 750 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque, the 7.3-liter V12 is a marvel of automotive and acoustic engineering.

Despite the company's plans to produce just 77 examples of its halo model, Aston Martin says that it's bent on making sure that each and every one of the vehicles can stand up to the same level of abuse as the rest of its production fleet. That means that somewhere out there, a One-77 prototype is being flogged in the world's most brutal climates.

Aston Martin has released the fourth installment of its video series on the One-77, complete with all of the long, slow-motion shots your little heart could possibly desire and a glorious soundtrack. If you're lucky enough to have secured a One-77 for yourself, the company says that deliveries should begin during the first half of 2011.

This car is pretty big, but the weight for it's size is pretty light! 750 and 750, good numbers. It'll hit 220mph also. One of the fastest British cars ever built. Definitely the fastest Aston. 1.7million big ones? I guess they can get away with that since there's only 77 in total.

Any particular reason why you think they're junk? I mean it's easy to just go out and say "XXX car brand" is junk. Anyone can do it. I could say Rolls Royce is junk...always has been. Or I could say Ferrari is junk...always has been. But without any reasoning as to WHY I would hold such an opinion, it doesn't hold any weight. It's empty, inane, and reeking of troll.

Back up your opinion with some reasoning, eh?

I'll have to agree with every word here. Without reasoning... this is just a statement a typical troll would make.

We all know Aston's aren't 'junk'. I'm eager to see what this car is capable of for real though. In testing they already hit 220mph and 60 I think in 3.4seconds? It's a fast car for sure, and I bet it handles!

My god, this is an engineering marvel! As a future engineer, I would drool over the opportunity to engineer such a car.

Their is something special about squeezing out so much power out of a naturally-aspirated engine.

Is this using the AMG M120 engine that was in the SL73 and Zondas, or is this a new powerplant? (And hopefully not a dual Duratec-derived one.)

I really doubt it'll come in at the weight figures Aston was throwing around at Geneva, but maybe they'll surprise me. This is a gigantic engine, and remember it's CF chassis only. Body is still aluminum. And if it comes with all the typical Aston interior fixin's....

The power numbers are cool, but they're barely getting over 100hp/L. I'm way more impressed by the GT3 RS, 458, LFA, etc. powerplants. Besides, the Zonda 7.3 gets nearly 700hp and that car went into production nearly 2 years ago. Certainly it's better than going to forced induction to do it, there is no doubt about that.

I love this car but the wheels look so very cheap on it. Something about the wheel design, they look like hubcaps...

i like the DBS better than this.

this one77 has The Hulk proportions. hind haunches are so fat that they look tacked on, looking at it from the front 1/4 angle.

and the front lights and grille make the face of a raging lunatic.
