Otherwise, that is a fantastic looking cabin. A lot of very nice details that are pretty luxurious looking. I wonder how it all feels. I can't wait for real world photos of it.
Your not the only one who struggles with the blue. In the Hyundais, it's too dark at night, with black numerals on a dark blue field. I just drove my dad's Veracruz from Santa Barbara to LA at I never did adjust to it.

One large dealer around here has been running separate "premium Hyundai" ads with only Genesis (sedan & coupe) plus Veracruz .

The '12 Genesis is a very nice car.
The Azera exterior design is bad and the interior is worse,IMO.

Grandeur sedan looks sweet, but they need to put the Azera out to pasture..

I disagree. If Hyundai needed to dump the Azera, thay would probably have already done so. No car survives in today's cut-throat world unless there is a good reason for it. Despite the Azera's relatively low sales numbers, Hyundai seems to recognize its need for a FWD family-sedan that doesn't have the Geeky styling of the Sonata/Elantra. The Genesis, with its RWD, clearly doesn't fulfull that role.

BTW, Hyundai probably could put the Azera out to pasture if they would simply offer an AWD option for the Genesis that would address winter-traction issues (I would consider one myself), but Hyundai management stubbornly refuses to put AWD into anything but its SUVs.....a marketing error, IMO.

Hyundai stated recently they have NO INTENTIONS of starting a luxury brand.

They should have but they havent. At this point they probably don't even need to create a brand rather than a sub brand like Land Rover is doing for their Range Rover sub brand. Land Rover is focused on off road while Range Rover focuses on luxury.
I'm sorry is the ES a Toyota? Its a Lexus and it starts at 35k.

This Hyundai strategy is similar to Nissan who offers the Maxima and loaded Altima and people buy both. They also offer their G25/37 from Infiniti. All 3 models sell very well. No reason why people who have different priorities pick the Sonata, Azera, Genesis.

C&D in the 2012 model preview issue, "The 2012 Azera wedges itself into the microscopic fissure between the loaded Sonata and the base Genesis V6".
