The Starlet, like most Toyota of the period, was an excellent and extremely well-built car mechanically, though, like most Japanese-designed cars of the period, with somewhat of a tendency to rust. That one has either avoided a lot of moisture/salt conditions, or has had some body work and rust-removal done...I'd guess a little of both. To date, though, it was probably the smallest Toyota ever sold in the American market under the actual name Toyota (not the Toyopet name of the 1950s), and, back in the early 80's, had the nickname "Tiny Tot". The dirt-simple, front-engine/RWD design (similiar to the early 80s Corolla, before the Corolla was converted to FWD in 1984) was the very definition of reliability, but its light weight and RWD could be a handful on slick roads.

Starlets were super rare, too. IIRC, I've seen a few of those but the Corolla and the Corolla Tercel were more abundant.
