A multi-link suspension is a type of vehicle suspension design typically used in independent suspensions, using three or more lateral arms, and one or more longitudinal arms.[citation needed] These arms do not have to be of equal length, and may be angled away from their 'obvious' direction.

As long as each wheel is not connected to another, you can call it independent suspension. It doesn't need to be multi-link or double wishbone to be independent suspension.

Of course, that doesn't mean that there is nothing to complain about in the Civic line. For some perverse reason, we still don't get the Civic 5-door hatchback here in America....nor do we get true high-performance Civics like in some other markets.

wait, back then, corolla dx (mid grade, while LE is top of the line) didn't even have cruise control
my damn 2011 sienna se went backward and cheap out on the homelink
oh wait, we're beating up on honda and not toyota
oh ok, my sister's civic has been dead on the road twice already. One for a dead transmission at 100k and now it's at the shop

Our beater 1996 Nissan Quest has auto on-off headlights with a twilight sentinel - and electronic climate control - no *****! Then again, it's a Ford-made van and the parts were from the Lincoln parts bin. OTOH, our Sienna LE and Prius has a light auto-off feature just like my 20 year old LS400.

I've got a 2009 Honda Civc LX-S package so I know what you mean about lack of basic features. I was also surprised that it did not have auto on/off headlights. A couple other things I've spotted is that it doesn't even have vanity mirror lights or an outside temperature gauge two things that the cheaper Corolla LE has.

I might also pick up Prius in next year as there is 4000 incentive from the employer for going Green.
I really want Lexus to sell next gen IS next year when my lease on IS350 is up.

lets be clear that the OP is not talking about auto headlights, but auto off headlights? On all lexus and im sure most if not all toyota models, the headlights turn off when you lock the car.

Did she have the transmission fluid and filter changed (if applicable) every 30K miles? Transmissions often go longer than 100K nowadays, but 100K is not that bad, particularly if the original fluid deteriorated and was not replaced. If the car was often driven heavily loaded, particularly up and down hills, that can also shorten transmission life.

My friend has a 2010 Corolla and his dad (aging, just needed a basic A-B vehicle) a 2011 Corolla.
They paid OTD less than $15,000 for LE models. Both have auto headlights.
Just sayin'
