the SWB does look like the smaller mid-sized sedans, as Fizzboy7 mentioned. ive always liked the ls600hL and the roominess. parents like it, too.

I feel like the SWB always look more balanced and proportional than their stretched variants, so I go with SWB. Plus, I'm Asian and I'm short; don't really need the space thank you very much, haha

interesting, for those who talk about driving, have you tried driving swb and lwb back to back? and find lwb that much harder to drive?

driving the ls460 vs ls460l, or 750i vs 750il, personally i don't see much difference at all

LWB ALWAYS FOR ME

Even for M, AMG, F, S/RS or any performance-oriented variant/version.

LWB for sure. I would buy a flagship for its size. Might as well go with the biggest they offer.

I do like the fact with BMW/Benz you can get the sport packages in LWB and SWB.

if i ever buy a flagship model, my main requirement is luxury and comfort; therefore LWB would be the better choice.

For flag"ship" it would have to be LWB, right???

For me though, I voted SWB... I don't like cars as boats

SWB, of course, makes it easier to manuver and park (and may get slightly better mileage/performance from less weight, but the LWB (all other things equal) gives it more stability, a smoother ride that is less-disrupted by bumps, and, of course, usually more rear-seat legroom. With the new Jaguar XJ, the LWB models also give you built-in rear wooden pull-down tables on the back of the front seats, like on Rolls-Royce models.

I don't know exactly how far back they go, but, yes, they are more or less a tradition in premium British sedans.
