So I assume new ES will be right around the corner.

Read on a Toyota forum that 2012 Camry should be revealed at NY Auto Show in April. Greater difference with the SE compared to other models. Also appears the Kentucky Camry line workers may have seen it as well (would hope so if public reveal is indeed in 2 months).
So I assume new ES will be right around the corner.

Some updates...
From another forum, apparently some workers that have seen the new Camry at Toyota's Kentucky plant say that the car looks really good. Also word is that the new Camry is slightly larger, but that has not been confirmed.
Furthermore, word is that the next-gen Rav4 is supposed to debut soon.
Also based on what I have heard, the reason there are basically no spy shots or leaks of future Toyota/Lexus products is because Toyota over the past few years has gotten tighter and more secretive in terms of security and leaks regarding future products. I see that as only a good thing, as the competition knows less, and Toyota has the advantage of the element of surprise.

Toyota/Lexus has been this way for quite a while. The last two generations of Camrys, Corollas, et al were not revealed until right at the very end. It's definitely to keep the competition in the dark.

Yes they have been that way for a while, but there were some leaks over the past few years, like the 6th-gen Camry leak before the car even debuted, and a few other leaks here and there. More secrecy is a good thing in terms of keeping the competition in the dark.

Another aspect worth mentioning is when a manufacturer starts showing off a new model, it tends to tank sales of the current one. I am sure Toyota is well aware of this and is keeping hush to help keep current sales brisk. I still see a ton of new Camrys on the road with dealer plates.

Just to add about the next-gen Camry, still no details on interior quality or plastics. Interior details are almost impossible to get. It seems everyone is being extremely tight-lipped about the interior.
All we supposedly know about the interior, based on what SICK mentioned earlier, is that it will have 10 airbags and the Entune infotainment system. The complete lack of details regarding the interior could also relate to what SICK heard regarding the interior being a "massive improvement". If it's a big improvement on the interior side, it would make sense for Toyota to be extremely tight-lipped until the official debut.
Regarding the word from workers who have seen the next-gen Camry, it contradicts the rumors that some dealers in January who saw the car hated it. Then again, styling is subjective, so we'll see soon enough.
Good point as well. Leaks of future products indeed affects sales of current products, especially given just how many people use the internet, and just how quickly news and information travels these days.

I'm reminded of GM and how terrible they are at the same thing. I think the current Camaro was shown four to five years before it debuted. tisk tisk

Thanks. Probably read the same thread I read last week. Appears that styling changes were indeed made a couple months back. Seems on sale date was also pushed back a couple months to Sept.

it has to be a massive improvement. ford (taurus), gm (many), hyundai, even chrysler now have far better interiors than the camry. anything short of a massive improvement will be disappointing and put them at risk. given the economic and currency situation in japan though, this could be a good economic win for kentucky, as maybe camrys may be EXPORTED in greater numbers.
i certainly hope the new camry knocks our socks off!

Camrys being exported, I doubt it.
