In the last 5 years we have seen and heard of some amazing things in the auto industry. Some of these seem unheard of just 5-10 years ago.

So post up what news or present day car completely makes your head explode! What car/brand/news is there that is utterly amazing to think about?

Seems things are no longer so cut and dry in regards to cars. Automakers are making it harder to make blanket statements (well outside all Acura's are ugly :laugh.

For example-

-Who would have guessed Lexus make a super car exotic?
-Who would have guessed Hyundai would have RWD/V-8 luxury cars?
-Who would have guessed BMW is going FWD?
-Who would have guessed the Jetta would go downmarket?
-Who would have guessed a VW auto plant was to be built?
-Who would have guessed a Nissan/Renault/Mercedes merger?
-Who would have guessed the 2011 Mustang GT could hang with a M3?
-Who would have guessed Honda/Toyota drops all sports cars?
-Who would have guessed Ford would have better hybrids then Honda?
-Who would have guessed the auto bailouts?
-Who would have guessed Volvo would be sold to a Chinese company?
-Who would have guessed the U.K would pretty much own no auto companies and Jag/RR are now Indian owned?
-Who would have thought Audi would make a R8 and outpower BMW M?


Those are some examples.
