I can't give you any more advice until you clarify this.
Drive it in the winter (at low temperatures- NOT below 20 degrees), but only when dry and not when the roads are bad and remember I drove an RX-8 with Continental Conti Extreme Contact ALL-SEASONs for a full winter here so know how sports cars/tires handle here in the cold.

I still plan on getting dedicated Blizzaks or Sottozeros and rims unless it's the Shelby and I'll use the rims that come with it... if I decide to drive all 12 months MINUS snow days, more for if I get stuck out far from home and one of those "surprise" Wisconsin blizzards shows up... but the winter rubber means I don't have to garage it the whole winter, which I think is a waste

Since you're in Wisconsin...

GTR?

From the list probably the Shelby or the Boxster S, not sure how often you'll have the top down

My thoughts would be ... GTR GTR GTR... for these reasons..

I would only look at manual cars for my Toy Car.. its not about what is the fastest its the joy of selecting your own gears...

How about a used 997 Turbo??

Amen to that. Gotta love that domestic V8 rumble.

i'd consider the latest z4 over all those.

m3 coupe - fun, but not a real sports car (heavy)
cobra, um no.
spyder - fugly looking
boxster s - nice but ridiculously overpriced and little low end torque

Interesting mix of 'verts and hardtops. But I get your point about using this as a weekend/play car all year in a true 4 season climate (non-sunbelt).

My preference leans towards the Porsche Boxster/Cayman with a proper set of extra winter wheels/tires. The Porsches will work fine given the weight distribution combined with integrated stability control/traction control/ABS systems.

Interesting choice cuz I really likd it when I saw it... but lots of compaints on 19" rims, which I think are the only good-looking ones... and I have yet to drive it... garners a drive tho

GT-R... just not a fan
997 turbo- in the mix
Boxster S- yes, more practical in WI than Spyder

Also, I am checking on Alpina B7 allotments right now... my BMW guy just delivered one 2 weeks ago, he is checking now for next allotment..

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many flippin' choices...

"time is on my side... yes it is..."
