Bingo. Still gotta break the car in. Our RX started at about 24 MPG and we've seen anywhere from 24 to 34 MPG average since then.

Gassed up the Legacy today. Though AWD, I am doing 22.2 MPG, all city. Anything over 30 would be awesome.

Most Prius owners never have to change their brake pads in the life of their vehicles because most of the time all they use are the regenerative part of the braking system, unless they depress the brake pedal too deeply for emergency/spirited stops. Definitely a plus for the hybrids.

Nice early write up.

Our 400h pads dust at a medium rate but the wheels are gunmetal so that helps.

The 450h front pads dust like a volcano, like Henry said I got 2 different color wheels after a few days of driving.

Had a LE 2.5 and never bothered to check. No mileage readout available on the LE.
The wife is in a bit of traffic to and from work.Nothing close to 34.4 with the LE.
The MPG seems to be rising everyday.I'm curious to see where the sweet spot will be.Should be coming soon.
Again,I really didn't buy the car for the mileage.Just wanted to try a hybrid without the usual big hybrid premium. The Camry V6 XLE was virtually the same cost with comparable equipment.I'm loving the hybrid feel and technology.

heh, too bad.. i would guess mid 20's if stuck in traffic

I had 2nd gen Prius and I loved it. You have to realize what the car is all about (and no, not every car is about gunning it into the corners), and Prius was as detached experience as it could possibly be (3rd gen Prius is like normal car) yet it was fun in its own way.

I test drove the Prius.Nice car the 1.8L is a bit weak for me in the power dept.Got to sacrifice something to get that 50 MPG.
The Camry hybrid is not speed burner but adequate and the ride quality is nice and with my new set of 'H' rated Michelin Primacy's from Tire Rack going on next week,an even more quieter and smoother ride.
A Camry doesn't need the rougher riding, louder stiffer sidewall 'V' rated tires.
The stock Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires are awful.
