The engine sounds good, but it’s very muted, and under full throttle the V-8 growl fades beneath a blanket of turbo whoosh.
Well that's to bad

I think it looks pretty good. Not amazing, but good.

To me, this is the exact same situation as with the Acura TL. The 3rd-gen TL is a near-perfect design. As soon as that TL came out years ago, I knew there was no way Acura would be able to improve upon that design.

Same thing I thought when the CLS first debuted. I thought to myself there was no way they could improve upon the design of the 1st-gen CLS, and overall IMHO they didn't.

It's not a terrible mess that the 4th-gen TL is, this comes close to looking as good as the 1st-gen CLS.

It's a little less angular. Less distinctive. Looks like the new Sonata from every rearward angle. Only the grill gives it stature.

I wonder how it rides?
I would say it's the opposite; not that the Benz looks like a Sonata, but that the Sonata looks like a Benz, and also like a lot of other cars.

Hyundai was the one who originally copied Benz, not the other way around. Yet with so much copying and mimicry that they have done, some people now mistakenly think Benz is copying Hyundai .

The people who buy these cars want refinement. If you want a roaring engine you have to purchase the AMG version of this car.

although suvs are more my thing for bigger vehicles, still love this car. wow. don't care for 3 spoke steering wheel in a big car like this though.

For a non-AMG car, this seems like a force to be reckoned with. It looks like this new CLS range is shaping up really good IMHO.

I can't wait to see what the AMG version will bring

Probably another successful, high margin trend setting car, a stylish version of the more affordable E-class.
