What a ****.

I wonder if the tourist can file a complaint against the cop for harassment, just for saying "german boy" or wtv.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said... If you don't know the rules, and the driver was acting like he didn't, then YOU SHOULDN'T BE DRIVING. He's lucky he and his passenger weren't taken to jail for driving without an international license. I aggree, it wasn't as courteous as you'd expect, but there was nothing flagrant about his comments. People need to stop being so damned hypersensitive.

"Oh boo hoo... He huwt my feewings..."

I cant believe that cop let them get away without a ticket. I'd arrest that douche if I caught him doing 98mph.

I don't see the big deal. In lieu of giving the guy a ticket for going nearly 100 MPH, he let him off with a stern verbal warning.

Seems like a nice cop to me.

If he wanted to be a ****, he could probably have taken the guy to jail for doing > 25 over (or maybe the cut off is 30, I forget). Or, he could've given the guy an expensive ticket.

Words are words. We live in the U.S.A., the cop can say whatever he wants. Similarly, you can say whatever you want to the cop (although it is probably in your best interest to butter up the cop.

I disagree 100%. I'm a civil liberties kind of guy.

To quote Voltaire "I don't agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"

I mean obviously there might be hints of subtle racism with what the cop said, but we don't have laws against sayings things just because they might be interpreted as offensive.

Honestly I'm absolutely astonished that you think the guy has grounds to file a "harassment" suit. That's patently absurd. The cop did nothing that could be ascribed to any legal definition of "harassment."

The cop said words - some of which were perhaps slightly condescending and/or racist - and that's it, and it wasn't just out of the blue - the cop stopped somebody who was engaging in reckless driving (going nearly 100 MPH on the street).

what is racist there? there is nothing racist... Cop was rightfully pissed because they were driving 98mph in 70mph zone. He was just trying to scare them so they dont do it again.

In germany, you would be arrested and go in front of the judge if you didnt have valid license and were driving 150 kmh in 110kmh zone.

in fact they got lucky. they should be thanking their deity and that cop.

Maybe a little red-neck, but I don't see how a white cop, addressing another white person he just pulled over, be considered "racist" (though we didn't see the face, we can reasonably presume that the German, like most Germans, was white). This was not a case of racial-profiling, like with Hispanics or other minorities.

The comment from the policeman that really turned me off was when he said: "Why are you driving in my country?"

WTF? So I guess this policeman wants only locals to drive in his country then???

Hayzz

dunno why people are getting so butthurt. this guy got lucky and walked away with just a warning and no ticket. id be happy with that instead of a giant fee and some points on my license.

plus this German guy rented a sports car(i think) and was obviously pushing it.
