I'm sorry but I don't really see anything in the E-class sedan or coupe in regards to style. Have people seen it in person? I'm sorry but the rear is bland, the pillar window is so huge there is a piece of glass that does NOT retract into the car and the sides have that weird Benz arch and lines that ruin the look. Certainly it is a very nice car but stylistically I just don't see it. Is it just me?

I think the front is great but past that it is not so good.

Much prefer these two. The original CLK looked great with the AMG sport kit.

The last CLK looked very femine and rather bland until it got the Black series treatment (or DTM!)

Sorry yall, I don't get it??

I think so.

I like the new E-Class coupe. The back, as simple as it is, is very distinctive. You know what it is from a mile away. The rear fenders are quite muscular, adding to its sport aesthetic.

The profile is fine with the big windows. The "eye" shape of the window is clean, linear, and elegant. I know that there is a bit of unretractable glass, but that's always a design issue with EVERY car on the road. Proper tinting can "hide" that.

I agree with you about the fold on the side of the car. Makes it look like an Accord coupe, but it will never be mistaken for one. I prefer clean smooth surfaces, which Lexus does (note the lack of that line on the SC430 and IS350C). It does add visual interest and tension, which may be appropriate to promote its sporty pretension.

I like the new E-coupe with 35% tint on all windows except windshield, looks a lot cleaner.

Agreed....the original late-90s CLK was gorgeous, as was the competing Volvo C70 coupe that debuted the same year.

What did you find "feminine" about the later design, though. It was not as gorgeous as the 1Gen model, but still, IMO, a good-looing car.

I too have problems with it, and the car looks weak (small/narrow) being based on the last gen (2001-on) C-class.

Thank you for all the responses.

I'm not much of a fan of the new E class coupe - it looks nice and all, but I prefer the convertible. Now that is beautiful.

I feel the lines flow better on the convertible, especially with the top down. It's weird, but I just cannot describe why I prefer the convertible. It's one of those aspects of personal tastes that you just cannot describe (or don't want to because nobody will understand you) in words.

Still, if she will decide to purchase the coupe, I won't complain. It's definitely a nice vehicle and design is subjective after all. And in all fairness, it does look stunning in that red color.

Now, on the subject of her nature photography - wouldn't a bright red car in the middle of a natural landscape setting stick out like a sore thumb? Yep.

I didn't like it in pictures and wanted to hate it.

But I keep seeing them on the road and it looks damn good...

i kinda agree. i love the front, but don't really like how the side looks in the front 3/4 view. On the other hand, love the c-class sport, looks great overall.
