Default Camry Hybrid's average MPG's peaks at 35.2 Edit:Seems to be still rising 35.6

950 miles on the odometer and it looks like the sweet spot average MPG will be 34.7-35.2 on our Camry hybrid with the wife's heavy foot. Not bad.
Cooler weather now and winter temps will drop the MPGs number.
I'm really liking this hybrid thing, though. Can't explain it.Just a nice feel behind the wheel.

The Camry hybrid almost has a Lexus-like feeling to it. Everything is seamless, smooth and silent and just seems to "work".

Like you said, hard to explain, but it's a great car.

Congrats again!

Agreed, drivertrain is smooth and refined, no penalty-box 4 banger econo-car effect.

And for those that like the somewhat conventional Euro sedan styling versus more unconventional styling of the ultra-efficient hybrids, that's a plus too.

I wasn't a fan at all of a hybrid.Even felt I would go diesel before hybrid.
After owning one I can honestly say I love the feel of the vehicle. The wife loves it too.
Once again, the hybrid premium isn't bad on the Camry.Virtually the same cost as a V6 with the same options and that's why I figured I'd try one and I'm glad I did..

make sure your tires PSI is what the manufacturer recommends....I actually have mine set at 5psi over that.

here's my Prius' running total...I'm sure the readout is a little optimistic, but its pretty close.

I always keep my tires at correct PSI.Never over because I like a softer ride.
In fact, today I sold the garbage 'V' rated (149 MPH) Bridgestone Turanza EL400 oem tires and mounted 'H' rated (130 MPH) Michelin Primacy's from Tire Rack.I've bought them before and the Primacy's give a smooth, quiet comfortable ride. It's a great tire.Nice change from the EL400's.
$70 rebate too.

Looked at the MPG readout just now and it's 35.6 MPG average.Seems to be still rising which is nice. The colder weather will lower the number, though.

Good numbers and the Camry hybrid is a gem.
I've had a fun time manipulating the mileage on my IS250. If I cruise down the 405 from Mulholland to Santa Monica Blvd, I can get my average up to 35 mpg's. While it's mostly all downhill, such numbers on any stretch of the 405 is quite noteworthy.

Nice. My i4 peaked at 33mpg initially but then I started driving normally and I'm hovering around 28-30mpg

aside question about tirerack. i've never bought from them, figuring it's not nice to not support local tire places. so a) does it really save much when you have to pay an installer to install them anyway, and b) how the heck do you get 4 huge tires in a camry to the store?

thanks.

it's a very nice quiet and smooth appliance but interior is still really weak IMO.
