Don't want to start an oil debate, but I'd be curious to know if he uses synthetic oil or conventional oil.

This is pretty unbelievable.

I thought the guy with 400,000 miles on his Yaris in 3 1/2 years was nuts.
And for a while, most people didn't believe him.

So about $67,000 in maintenance costs...what about gas?
Let's say an average of 18mpg (might be generous), that's 55,555 gallons of gas! At today's price of $2.80 as a 4 year average, that's...wait for it....

$155,555 in gas!

So this truck has cost about $263,000.00 to buy and operate.
Hope the job pays well!

Pretty much agree with most of what Jared has stated. Am a current long haul trucker, and have been so for almost 10 years. It IS possible to hit that kind of mileage, however it does require multiple drivers as well as ALOT of long dedicated hours behind the wheel. The fact that he is not limited to all of the rules/regulations that us interstate truckers have to follow allows him the freedom to pretty much drive whenever and for as long as he wants to push that thing. I, on a good week, average about 3500 miles per week (following the regs/rules,,to expensive if you get caught). My yearly average is somewhere around 125-135K, documented, miles a year. Keep in mind that I can't just pick up and go whenever I want, nor can I drive for as long as I wish to. **Cough,,cough,,we would never do that. LOL!!! Longest I have ever driven in a day was close to 900 miles,,wayyy back when I first started out and didnt know any better, nor cared. Trip was from Atlanta all the way to the west side of Dallas. Nowdays, I just ain't trying to push things that hard anymore. Not even worth it.

Now whether or not the Ford can stand up to that kind of abuse,, who knows. I know that it is possible, but I am kinda suspect of the story myself for it being such a short time, and the man is delivering Greyhound dogs. Alot of maintenance cost as some others have stated, and I don't think that line of work pays THAT well. If so,, I am in the wrong business.
