So you would sue the manufacturer of the car that you own for faulty accusations from other consumer and media hype?

this is why we need loser pays style lawsuits. This would put a stop to the BS crap lawsuits and accusations. We are literally the only country in the world that does not have loser pays. Guess what results, we have the most frivolous lawsuits anywhere.

NO i would sue them because my car value is dropping dramatically because they are not handling the cases as they are suppose to. On top of that they should of never did things under the table, if you know there is a problem FIX it don't cut corners. For instance the valve spring recall they knew about it back in 2008!!!!! they only recalled the cars in 2010 of late september. What does that state you? look at hyndai, they recalling sonata for a bad door latch the car just started to sell like a month ago. Compare and contrast see for you're self how idiotic toyota is for bulding a very good name and taking it to the dumster.

I havent noticed the price of these cars dropping dramatically at all?

If the prices were dropping more rapidly than normal, I would probably own an IS350 again. My friend is looking for a 2005 4Runner 4WD, the prices seem high to me

I doubt they'll be popping up again. If they actually do start popping up, the credibility of such people is going to be seriously questioned, since it's already been officially proven virtually all of the claims were not from any flaws in the vehicles, but from driver error.

The US is a litigious society. I can't see that really changing in the future.

this was reported in ABC news yesterday... Toyota already had PR denying the report.

They purchased back 2 vehicles total, in December 2009 and mid 2010.

2 cars.

2 vehicles.

Half of the media is purposely avoiding to mention how many vehicles were in question.

It is not Toyota technicians but dealer mechanics that reported the issue, Toyota purchased vehicles back to investigate and could never find anything wrong with them.

NHTSA spokeswoman Olivia Alair said the agency first received Toyota technicians' reports earlier this year "as part of our ongoing investigation of unintended acceleration, but we didn't receive complaints directly from the consumers."
The new charges are part of a 1,056-page document filed Wednesday as part of a class-action case against the Japanese automaker.
Toyota said in a statement that it repurchased two vehicles for further engineering analysis. However, it said that technical specialists and engineers were unable to duplicate the condition.
"As part of our commitment to investigate acceleration concerns, we have voluntarily repurchased other vehicles," said Brian Lyons, a Toyota spokesman. "The repurchase was not mandatory or directed through an arbitration or court process."
More than 200 lawsuits filed against Toyota after the automaker recalled millions of vehicles because of acceleration problems have been consolidated before U.S. District Judge James Selna in Santa Ana, Calif.
