G25 is not going to do anything but take sales from the G37. IS/C/3 sales still showed gains.

It's too early to know what impact G25 sales will have as there probably weren't even enough examples in stock at dealerships yet to move in October.

After a couple days of delay, sales numbers for the month of October are finally in, and most automotive brands earned a treat instead of a trick.

The majority of brands for sale in the U.S. achieved an increase in sales versus the same month last year, and of those, the majority posted a double-digit gain in sales. Jeep pulled off a triple-digit sales gain, seeing volume rise an incredible 111% thanks to the new Grand Cherokee, sales of which rose from a scant 3,256 units last October to an impressive 12,721 this October.

The biggest surprise is Toyota joining the cellar dwellers with a 6.2% drop in sales. Despite an 8% rise in sales, Lexus and its relatively low sales volume couldn't save the company as Toyota as a whole fell 4.4%.

E class is bonkers as usual.

infiniti is dying. Those G37 sales are looking pretty poor.
Since they are on the 5 year cycle, the next gen G37 should be coming soon.

Seems like the ES got a boost from incentives. We've got 1.9% financing on the ES350 in socal.

DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 3, 2010 – Consumer demand for Ford Motor Company’s fresh lineup of high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles in October helped the company grow monthly sales 19 percent versus a year ago, with 157,935 units sold.

Year-to-date, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury sales totaled 1.6 million, up 21% – growing double the overall industry rate. Ford is on track to gain market share for the second year in a row – a result not achieved since 1993.

“Increasingly, consumers are choosing Ford,” said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Ford’s broad range of high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles offer buyers value that endures for the life of the purchase and when they trade their vehicle.”

Ford has shown consistent improvement in vehicle quality and reliability for several years. For 2011, 90% of Ford vehicles tested average or above average in the Consumer Reports study. In the most recent J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Ford brand ranked fifth among all brands and first among non-luxury brands.

Ford’s Balanced Vehicle Portfolio
In October, Ford car sales were up 20%, utilities were up 9% and trucks were up 25%. Year-to-date, Ford car sales were up 18%, utilities were up 15% and trucks were up 28%.

Cars
Fiesta highlighted the growth in car sales with its best sales month ever (3,846 units). Fiesta, the highly acclaimed, fuel-efficient subcompact, is bringing new customers to Ford with a conquest rate of 62% – the highest in Ford’s product lineup – and a growing share of the small car segment.

“Fiesta customers love their new cars,” said Czubay. “Fiesta is our strongest proof point yet that our global growth strategy is working. Now, we’re preparing to launch the Focus – the next all-new product from Ford’s global product development system.”

Fiesta has helped Ford increase its share of the small car market, a key element in Ford’s U.S. and global growth strategy. In October, Ford’s share of the key small car segment increased more than 50% based on Fiesta and Focus combined share versus a year ago.

Also contributing to the growth in car sales was the Ford Fusion. The popular midsize sedan posted record October sales of 17,362, up 29%. Sales for the Ford Focus were up 23%, and Mustang sales were up 11%.

Sales for the Lincoln MKZ were up 11% versus a year ago. The MKZ Hybrid accounted for 25% of retail sales of the 2011 model MKZ.

Utilities
Ford’s new midsize crossovers, the 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, are off to a strong start and capturing a larger share of their respective midsize crossover markets. These products are the 1st Ford models to offer MyFordTouch and MyLincolnTouch – state-of-the-art technology to better connect drivers with their vehicle information, entertainment and on-board technologies.

The new Ford Edge also features best-in-class horsepower and unsurpassed V6 highway fuel economy. The new Lincoln MKX offers best-in-class fuel economy and 305 horsepower – an increase of 40 hp versus the prior model.

Utilities were paced by the Edge, up 24%, and Escape, up 17%.

Trucks
Ford’s F-Series truck posted one of its highest sales months in the last 2 years and, in the process, became the industry’s 1st product to eclipse the 400,000-vehicle sales milestone in 2010. October sales for the F-Series totaled 49,041, up 24%. Year-to-date sales stand at 434,920.

Production of the 2011 model F-150 begins this month with an all-new powertrain lineup of 4 new engines, including a 3.5-liter EcoBoost and a new 6-speed transmission that will deliver class-leading capability and fuel economy. This truck lineup will provide up to 20% more fuel efficiency than the 2010 models. F-150 pickups with the new 3.7-liter V6, 5.0-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 will be in dealership showrooms later this fall. The F-150 with EcoBoost will be available for sale early next year.

Ford’s commercial vans also made strong contributions to October’s truck sales performance. Econoline, Ford’s full-size van, had sales of 7,379, up 30%, and Transit Connect, the fuel-efficient, purpose-built van, delivered sales of 2,577, up 70%.

“We are pleased to see Ford’s momentum continue as we start the fourth quarter,”
said Czubay. “We have several key product launches ahead, such as the new F-150 powertrains, Explorer and Focus, and we plan to continue the new product momentum into 2011 and beyond.”

General Motors on Wednesday said its US auto sales in October rose 3.5% over last year led by a strong demand for their popular crossovers, and full-size pickup trucks.

REUTERS
General Motors said Wednesday, its US auto sales in October rose 3.5%, compared to same period year ago.

The company sold 183,759 vehicles in October as against 177,603 vehicles during the same period a year ago.

Combined sales for its Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac rose 13% in October to 183,392 vehicles compared to the same period in the year-ago period.

"Our October results show that our focused plan is working, as our four brands continue to grow," said Don Johnson, vice-president of US sales operations.

"Signs are there that the recovery continues and it will be sustained,"
he said.

The auto giant, which was forced to undergo a government-backed bankruptcy restructuring plan in 2009 and rely on taxpayer funds to stay afloat, is expected to begin to break away from Treasury ownership by floating its shares on the stock exchange.

Default Top 10

October is typically a slow month for auto sales, but most automakers picked up the pace, and a few had record months, even record years.

Hyundai and Subaru both surpassed their entire 2009 sales total at the end of October. With two months left to go, these brands will have more to brag about.

Major players did well, too, with Ford, GM , Chrysler, Honda, Volkswagen and Nissan all seeing gains. In fact, the only major automaker to see a dip was Toyota, down 0.9% from October 2009. Why? It was mainly due to a sales dip among the Toyota brand and uber-popular models like the Corolla, which was down 25% compared with the same month last year.

Otherwise, our top 10 looks remarkably similar to September’s, with the Honda Civic falling off completely. The Honda CR-V however, moves up three spots on the chart.

Top 50 YTD

The 3 and RX are the only luxury cars on the list. Amazing how well they sell!
