It's such a shame cause it had nice interior.........but fails otherwise (esp. exterior design and huge *** C and D pillars that are detriment during parking).

It's a shame really but they get what they deserve with this underwhelming car.

This car would be perfect if it replaced the LS400 in Street Fighter game.

Ugly styling and dated technology (for a premium car, because this was supposed to be a flagship vehicle per Acura), a recipe for failure as expected.

Bruce Van

I was in one of those focus groups.

The whole group ripped the car, the whole idea and on Acura in general.

They videotaped the event so I am sure management has seen the sick faces on the focus group when they showed us concept pictures.

It must have been a senior manager's pet project because we gave it no love and asked them go go build us a new NSX instead.

The only progress we saw that night was a commitment to using better interior materials than were used in my gone and easily forgotten 04 TL.

I won't necessarily disagree with the Most-Disappointing-Vehicle of 2010 going to the ZDX.....(it is, in fact, a good candidate), but I think there's some other good candidates as well. The Honda CR-Z, like all Honda/Acura products, has superb fit/finish and assembly-quality, but the IMA/CVT powertrain-combo, IMO, is very disappointing (less-so for the 6MT, from what Mike tells us). I personally found the 2010 Toyota Prius, despite its admittedly excellent, refined hybrid powertrain, a big letdown from the 2009 model in sheet-metal and interior materials/quality. The new 2010 Lincoln MKT good fit/finish and drives nicely, but has very awkward styling both front and rear.

32,000, though, is not bad, when you consider three things. First, of course, the economy is still in a recession, with almost 10% unemployment.....that's not going to bode for a lot of car sales. Two, among AWD wagons, both it and the Venza are directly competing against one of the most well-entrenched icons in the American marketplace...the Subaru Outback. Three, of course, it can't be expected to sell in numbers anywhere near that of its conventional FWD Accord sedan/coupe brothers, which, along with the Camry, dominate the mid-sized marketplace in their class.

The ZitDX is a far bigger failure than the the Crossturd (and the topic per OP).

Ugly, overpriced, and useless...no wonder it doesn't sell.

I'm still waiting to see a hot hatch version, albeit a large, slow one:

Wow. Unbelievable that they still went forward with car despite all of the negative feedback. I wonder why more auto companies don't throw out designs and let the general community decide. Look at the success of the Mustang and Camaro? The concepts were revealed very early and people responded very positively to them. I would say they are both sales successes.

I simple poll would have saved them a lot of money on a losing vehicle. I"m sure the NSX would have outsold the ZDX.

FWD, beak, no rear seat room, dismal gas mpg.

although it's not as ugly as an Asstek, it fails so hard.

as a 2-passenger suv, it would do fine, as it has plenty of cargo space

They ignored the focus groups because http://www.autofieldguide.com/articles/011003.html

Blame this woman, .

The Acura ZDX exterior was designed by Michele Christensen at the Acura Design Studio in Torrance, CA. Christensen is Acura’s first female designer, and the ZDX is her first production car.
