I think Toyota could've at least squeezed more power of the 5L without FI. If Ford can, Toyota should be able to.
I don't remember which mag said that they did some loose airflow testing with the F engine and they figured it was pretty much reaching its limits at the current redline. The 5.0 V8 sourced from the LS600hL was never originally designed for this sort of use, after all.
I wouldn't be surprised if, in future iterations, the F uses a completely new engine now that the model itself is successful. Of course, we might also see more bumps up in price with future generations.
