I don't get this reasoning.
Why not watch both? Double the fun. It's kinda sad to boycott a show without giving it a shot because you believe only the original will do. It sucks that America hasn't had a show like this, give it a shot. Otherwise networks will just continue to ignore one of America's greatest interests - cars. And they'll keep giving us freaking dancing shows and reality love shows.
At first, I thought this was a completely separate production from the British show, but when I realized that it's yet another arm of the original, like Top Gear Australia, I decided it wasn't such a bad thing.
The main benefit with this is the cars tested will be American offerings and on American landscape and culture. When watching the British show, it's a little difficult to relate when watching an unfamiliar landscape with odd terms and right hand drive in cars we've never heard of.
I think as it develops, it will look less like a copy of the original and take on its own style.
Just give it a chance to survive.

I watched a little but of it but got bored. Hopefully they get better. The wife didn't like it much either and she genearlly likes the UK version. It's not just the host but I would think that because Americans tend to be more conscious about being "politically correct" that it may lose some humor that the UK version has, at times.
I'll give it a few more episodes before I write it off though...

I enjoyed the 2nd episode more. The Evo segment was better than the Viper segment.
The Aston Martin spot was good. The guest was a bit more enjoyable. The drifting segment got a little old though. The fascination with drifting does need to lighten up in future episodes. And overall, the humor aspect is still lacking compared to the British show but that's expected. That said, the hosts seem to be developing more chemistry. Definitely an improvement.
A show I will definitely continue to look forward to each week.

tonights episode was pretty good. better than the first one. the evo segment could have been better imo. same for the aston martin one. but the star in a reasonably priced car and blind man segments were great imo

Wow, MUCH better episode imo.
They fixed 3/4 things, and already the show is feeling a lot smoother and more natural than the first ep. The chemistry between the presenters is already much more natural as well. Really looking forward to the rest of this series.
Technical things they need to work on:
-Editing. Things felt really choppy between transitions, especially in studio. And the Buzz interview was SUPER RUSHED.
-Commercials. Dumping one in the middle of a segment kills the momentum. Choose better breaks
-Dim the house lights! Seeing the studio lit up so brightly frankly makes it cheaper looking.
-Audience. They seem so dead. Liven up a little people; that will help with the bleak silences that make the presenters seem even more awkward.
