After 25 years on European markets, Honda Legend goes.
Seems it was taken out of the Middle Eastern Market as well after 2 years.

After 25 years on European markets, Honda Legend goes. At the end of this year and early next, sales of the Honda Legend will stop in Germany and most other European countries. Main reason is the relatively low demand for this model. In the expensive middle class on Europe market, Legend remains in the shadow of German models. In Germany for full year 2009 were sold only 21 cars of the model, in most European countries sales are almost identical. The share of this car in the segment of higher middle class in Europe is less than 1%. Honda Legend is powered by SOHC VTEC V6 engine with a volume of 3.7 liters and power 217 kW. The movement is transmitted to all four wheels with five speed automatic transmission. By end of Legend in the European market Honda will offer only 4 cylinder engines.

RL might have been an great car, but it simply didnt look as expensive car here in Europe... I had one in car wash next to my GS, and everyone was starring at GS (everyone does in Europe, not many around), while nobody cared about Honda

It's rare to see top-of-the-line mainstream cars on the roads here. A fully-loaded Passat or Citroen C5 is a rarity here. Unlike Americans, most Europeans don't want fancy gadgets in their mainstream cars (they'll usually go to luxury brands for that). That's, at least, from what I understand (and have observed). The Honda Legend, like the Hyundai Grandeur, is pretty much an exotic car here. It doesn't help that both come only with a thirsty and overpowered V6 engine. I can't remember the last time I saw a Passat, C5, Laguna, Superb etc. V6 on the road here.
I've only seen two Honda Legends in Stuttgart this far and in both instances they had "dealer car" written all over them...
I think quite simply, it's just a case of selling the wrong car in the wrong market. Selling an overpowered Honda Legend in Europe is almost the same as if say BMW sold a 116i in the US. Nobody would want one.

I don't know if you guys know this, but used RL's have actually increased in value. Prior to the (ugly) model update, RL's were coming off lease and selling for $15k. Now that same RL is $18k.
The model update actually caused first gen RL's to increase in value. Lol.

Almost all used car values are up right now.
Big SUVs (as used vehicles) are especially popular right now with rising values today and supplies of clean well-equipped ones are low.
(Although ugly beaked new models does help value of more attractive older models for sure)

Yes, that is very true and likely has an effect on RL pricing also. In addition, there just weren't a whole lot of RL's sold to begin with, so finding a clean example is difficult, bolstering prices.
