FWD of The Toyota Family
I don't know about any of you guys, but I'm a RWD kinda guy. I love it. It just feels nicer, and to me, just more control of the car.
I've never driven an AWD car, but I think it might have even better handling.
Anyway, I don't like FWD cars, but lets just say, if I was to ever consider one, what would you recommend?
I don't want an ES350. So, its just between Toyota and Scion.
I used to love the Scion xB, but then I find out its FWD, so I don't know. I have test driven it before, but I don't know if FWD's are good.
Besides the Scion xB, what other FWD Toyota cars do you recommend?

FWD has its purpose for cheaper packaging and efficiency. I think the FWD hybrid Prius/Camry are great examples of it.

Are Avalon's good cars? I'm finding some nice CPO Avalon's for under $20k (found one for $16k), between '07-'09 with miles between 30k-70k. They look big and nice. Anyone ever own one or driven one?

What is the purpose if this particular car? Are you going to track it? Race it? Drive it really hard on the streets? Reason why I ask is because if its going to be used as a regular daily commuter to and from work and not really any hard core spirited driving pretty much any FWD car will do. To be honest, I've went to and from work back to back from a mid engine RWD, front engine RWD, to front engine FWD and feel pretty much no difference when it comes to every day street driving.
That said, Camry, Avalon are all good every day cars. I like the Scion tC as well.

I drive an LS400 now, and since its a V8 and gas guzzler (335 miles on full tank), and since I've had a couple of speeding tickets, I don't speed anymore or drive aggressively. I'm more laid back, and on the freeway, I drive no more than 75 miles an hour. Usually its under 70, but if there is someone slow in front of me, I will speed up to cut them off, but thats about it.
I'm assuming the Avalon would be perfect for me? One question about Toyota sedans. Do any of them come with Navigation? I have not yet found an Avalon that has navigation, nor any Camry's or Corolla's.

we currently own an '11 avalon. very spacious, and the navigation is a great plus for the car. though it's a FWD, it doesn't seem like it's pulling the 35xx weight of the vehicle- very smooth. the navi works pretty well, even shows traffic conditions that are quite accurate- delayed maybe 15 mins at most, but still quite accurate when we were plotting our routes.

I just looked at the pics of the new Avalon, I love the wood trim, leather and nav. I can't find an 07-09 with Leather or Nav though. Did Toyota just start doing this for the Avalon for the '11 model or did previous models have this too? Cause I can't find one with nav. :/
