Default CarbonGS' 67 Ford F100 Build Then till Now

As most of you know, I sold my 4Runner this week and need another daily driver/project car. Something I can work on and drive at the same time. So, it was natural to use some of the money that I got from the sale of the 4Runner and put that towards a good daily that is practical, easy to use, and easily attainable for a good price. Of course, I had to find something a little more unique, rare, and unexpected. The result, a 1967 (yes you read that right 1-9-6-7) Ford F100 Ranger. Yes, this was inspired by my close friends who mentioned that I should get a Mr. M truck. Mr. Miyagi that is haha.

A little background on the truck. It is a 2 owner 1 family owned truck. Just passed 200,000 miles on the odometer. Has a 352 Big Block in it. Came with AC and Heat as well. Everything works in the truck just needs a little TLC. It is an old truck but it is a good truck.

Amanda, Colin, Anne, and my dad came along for the trip since the truck was out in Ellijay, GA. We hit up a cool park on the way back, Carter Lake. Nice detour. The scenery was awesome and the weather was awesome minus the cold. Thanks again guys for helping me pick up this bad boy.

There will be more pictures posted as I build the truck. Going for a more resto-mod type build on the truck. Something more practical, kinda showy, but mostly reliable

Most everyone knows my project car

On the International AllStars site

http://www.teamallstars.com/cars/01lexusgs300.php

This is the truck that I picked up in Ellijay, GA

The plans as of now are to build something like this but keep the oem colors

Any suggestions, comments, or concerns just post it up. I am very new to the domestic game. Especially the domestic truck game. Definitely want to do things right the first time.

Congrats on the new pickup. Props for going outside the box (for this community typically).

lol as crazy as I could with the money I got from the old car. Was wrecked but running so I didn't get a whole lot for it. This was just under the budget so it worked out well. Have a little left over for some tune up/fixing up projects

Awesome Long Bed truck!!

I've had many Ford trucks over the years.

Do you plan on bagging it or just dropping it. Many options for this model truck!

My biggest concern is what's the status on the rust situation?

These trucks rust out bad in the rockers, core support, bed mounts, cab mounts, and floor pan near the front fenders.

just dropping it. i made sure to check for rust. the major areas were ok and a lot of it had already been repaired by the previous owner.

how much money do you plan to invest into Mr Ranger?

I personally drove a 1967 Mustang as a daily driver for about 14mos until I picked up my 01' 430 July 2010...hmm how do I say this. First of all I've always LOVED classics, they are a part of American history.

Although awseome in their own right (classics) you may be disappointed in driving it EVERYDAY.....I know I know Im not trying to be negative nellie because even though they will be burrying me in my Mustang, driving it everyday got old really quick. I would leave work happy and by the time I would get home driving on the 405fwy from Irvine to HB I would end up really irritated.
They stink, rattle, rough ride, bad on gas and can be UBER expensive in restoring depending on what your plans are but I STILL LOVE EM'!

Just wanted to share my experience so you dont underestimate the daily-ness and the costs associated with rebuilding them. With A/C, a heater, being a truck (comfyier ride) and power steering; its already better than what I was working with. All Im saying is strap yourself in for what's to come.

Good purchase and good luck!

Btw - a 352 is a small block

Love the old truck! Rarely see old ones like that in decent condition. All we have here are newer F-150's which have been jacked up with huge exhausts. I'm sure it's the same story over there.
