Well, in the case of the Elgrand its' not all of a sudden. It's had that big grille forever.

Don't think I agree with you...

I think Nissan and Mazda are not producing ugly cars compare to Honda/Acura and BMW. A few Nissan US models are actually quite nice and unique looking. Mazda has gone a bit too far with its smile face but still, I wouldn't say they are ugly Mazdas. Most Madza cars actually look better than other brands.

The Elgrand is still the Japanese version we've seen in the pictures. The grille might be changed to different style if it comes to the States. But I really like the overall shape of the Elgrand. Bulky and strong stance. I can't wait to see what Nissan will fianlly bring to the US for the Quest replacement... then I will have to decide either to get the Swagger Wagen SE or this new Quest!

I think Nissan should just send the god damn elgrand straight into US so they don't have to work on the quest anymore

Hehe that's a good insight there.....though I don't know how American consumers would respond to that. Still, if there is demand and response and clamor for it is good/sufficient, then there may be a chance. Yet, that's up to Nissan though to make such a decision.

Still, either way, it appears that the new-and-upcoming Quest (R42H?) will now be built in Japan alongside the Elgrand shown here (J42H?).

P.S.
Anyways

Rider version

i think people will accept the Rider's grill more. But the thing is if people can take the Acura and Honda grilles, they will take Nissan's.

The kids will take mom's minivan out on the town and start drag racing the ricers.

I find JDM vans to be absolutely repulsive. This does not disappoint.
YUCK!!

However, JDM vans do have stellar interiors.
