It's a joke from the OP.
The days of handicap stalls being for wheel chair bound people are gone. Just about anyone that walks with a "limp" or difficulty or you're too fat or whatever, can get a handicap placard.
I not implying anything about the driver, but an R8 is not the typical "handicap person" car.

i don't think it's a joke, but i do find it odd that an r8 would park in a handicapped spot. even if the driver or passenger were handicapped, it's not exactly handicap-friendly inside that car. i might be wrong, but the plate looks something like the purple heart, but i'm not too sure. i recently underwent arthroscopic surgery and was granted a handicap placard, but i'd feel awfully bad if i rolled up in my F and took up a reserved spot for someone else who might need it much more.
what irritates me is seeing a handicapped stall being occupied by those douchbag kids who claim they're taking care of their disabled relative (grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc.) and use it simply because they're too lazy to find parking themselves with no relative in the vehicle. i've seen the same teenager do this, and last week at the mall, he finally gets caught with this violation, and he flat out deserved it- by a sheriff of all cops. sheriff gave him a stern lecture and a fat ticket ($250-3500 and/or jail time in CA if i'm not mistaken).

Handicap spots are usually wider (or have ramp space beside them). This guy parked way over to the right which tells me the driver is protecting the car from door dings on the left or needs to fully open the door to enter and exit.
The width of the handicap parking spot is far more important to us than the closeness to the store. I have to roll a wheelchair up beside the car and open the door fully to transfer my wife in.

In texas, you have to provide documented proof in the form of a Department of Defense Form 214 (DD214 for all you military types) or an Enlisted Record Brief/Officer Record Brief (ERB/ORB) With the Order of the Purple Heart listed on it. These documents, along with the citation for the award, must be presented at the County Tax Assessor's office when applying for your tags. So...while he may not have been in a wheelchair, It does not mean he isnt handicapped. I can get the same for my truck, but I have to have the truck there LOL.
