Great to hear, expected preview though.

I am more eagerly waiting for official confirmation of the Camry debut.

So, it's a Prius with more cargo space.

I hope they design the car to be significantly different, which retaining familial features.

Like how the Corolla and Matrix look very different, but still basically are the same car.

What they don't want to do is make a car that cannibalizes the standard Prius.
It needs to be something that most sedan buyers wouldn't consider so that the Prius can maintain its outstanding sales pace.

That Prius v (van) is going to sell like hotcakes. A van that gets 40 MPG would be great. A lot of people don't want a big Sienna.

I assume the concept will be the Prius coupe!

Im getting the impression that Toyota will spin the "Prius" name off into a stand alone company sans Lexus and Scion. Possibilty or wishful thinking?

Yeah it seems like that as they made it pretty clear with the launch of the FT-Ch concept last year in Detroit regarding the "Prius" family line of vehicles.

Here is the rollout strategy of the hybrid line during the Paris Motor Show a few months back. Although the Auris is a Corolla, they all ride on a modified variation of MC platform. FT-CH, Auris Hybrid and Prius

Looks decent enough, wish they could have squeezed a few more MPGs out of it. 40 combined is good though.
