Well deserved!!! The 1LR-GUE engine is a work of art. I wonder about evo's comment, that the engine may see other applications...we'll see.

Very cool acknowledgements for both the man and the engine.

The engine is exclusive, so I very highly doubt it will see other applications. The experience and knowledge learned from this engine, as well as some of the technology used in this engine however I definitely feel will be seen in other Toyota/Lexus engine applications.

Let there be a GS F! But agreed, 1LR-GUE needs to stay put. Lets hope they keep it exclusive to the LFA like they did the 1GZ-FE for the Century.

The thing is, the V-12 Century has been in production since 1997, That's a 13 year production run so far. The LFA will be a 2 year run with 500 units.

Maybe that's part of the reason it's so expensive, butI wouldn't doubt seeiing the 1LR turn up elsewhere after the production run is completed. LFA 2 perhaps even?

The 1LR-GUE is expensive because of the exotic materials they used to build the motor. Lots of titanium, aluminum and of course magnesium.

it could be (variant / improvement of it) if lexus makes another lfa type supercar. though i don't see them doing it again in the near future. by then, another new engine is probably warranted. for cars up to 150k range, i am not sure if the 1lr can find its way there yet

In every review, the engine is called a gem. Its one of the all time greats.

Maybe they should showcase a concept for years that won't get built or maybe show test mules and tell the press what is coming then cancel it?
