Welcome back. Glad to have your usual, unbias commentary back on board. Althought 1SICK and Hoovey filled in great on the reveiws, there's nothing like a trio of opinions when breaking down a car for a potential buyer! GODSPEED on your recovery.
I previewed the Equus for ya while you were recovering.
Thanks. Have you changed your mind about it, or do you still think it plays second-fiddle to the LS460 (assuming you got to test-drive one)? Of course, there's a significant difference in price....even with Hyundai, all else equal, it's probably difficult to make a 50-55K car that compares with a 70K+ one. And, I'll admit, the last LS460 I reviewed (by my tastes) ranked among the Top 10 cars I've driven in my lifetime.
Welcome back MM! I'm sure that it's a relief to have the surgery behind you.
Thanks. It's also nice to see health insurance covering the clear majority of it (probably 75-80%), even though the billing system in hospitals and doctor's offices is absurdly complex and unwieldy....the paperwork is literally endless. My bank account, though, will take at least somewhat of a hit, too.......but fortunately, I should be able to easily cover the balance of what insurance doesn't pay. I've been rather frugal with my finances, and had saved up for just such an emergency.

Thanks. I've back to driving my own car now, but, for several reasons (among them doctor's advice), I'm going to hold off on reviews until after the D.C. Auto Show at the end of the month (which I now plan to attend at least in part). Then, it will be the 2011 Ford Explorer, the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500, the 2012 Ford Focus (when it debuts), and (if Hyundai will give traditional test-drives), the Equus. I'm especially looking forward to the Equus (to see how it compares with upper-level Lexus sedans) and to the the new Explorer, to see how it compares to the much-improved new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I knew Mike and Hoovey would do a good job. There are reasons why CAR CHAT is one of the best auto-talk forums on the Internet.
