Possible leaked ATS and ATS-V specs posted on http://www.atsforums.com

Good to see someone is going to retain 8 cylinder engines Sad to see the next M3 going forced induction V6 though.

Interesting that the flagship gets only a 6-speed auto while the lower variants get the 8-speed.
The 3.6 beats the IS350 in both power and fuel economy by a huge margin with just regular fuel.. that's quite something. Lexus definitely needs to up the game soon.

The CTS 3.6 has only 304hp and this new 3.6 has 330hp so it should do better now.
True. The IS-F doesn't produce nearly as much torque as this ATS-V so it can use the 8-speed. Same reason that the SC'd AMGs stuck with the 5-speed for a while.
The 8 speed is probably too fragile to handle the torque of the V8, so its stuck with the 6 speed.

This car won't even be OUT to market for at least another 2 years, maybe 3. Secondly, the IS is dated and will soon see a redesigned model coming out. There is no point comparing a model that doesn't exist on the market yet to a dated model due to be redesigned.

Lord love the car blogs. On the same day TTAC was fooled by a local TV report’s use of a forum photoshop, the rest of the autoblogosphere has gone bananas for an “alleged spec sheet” that is in fact pure speculation on the part of a member of the GM forum cheersandgears.com. Although the “document” in question “surfaced” in a forum poll entitled “2014 Cadillac ATS – Powertrain Predictions” (and was never presented as an official or “leaked” document), the High Gear Media Hive Mind proceeded to write up the “alleged spec sheet” as if they’d just found it in the RenCen’s executive washroom.

Looks like the specs in this original post for the 2.0T Inline 4 were about right on. Info released by Cadillac today put it at 270 HP and 260 Torque.
Surprisingly 35 lb ft of torque less than the Buick Regal GS 2.0T turbo. I know FWD vs RWD application, but still.

Cadillac has just announced that the forthcoming 2013 ATS will come packing an available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder putting out an estimated 270 horsepower.
The engine features direct-injection, a twin-scroll turbo huffing 20 psi of boost, an air-to-air intercooler and variable valve timing, along with a forged-steel crankshaft and a two-stage variable displacement oil pump.
Cadillac claims the new 2.0-liter is 16 percent more efficient than the previous generation four-pot, and is able to deliver its peak 260 pound-feet of torque from 1,500 to 5,800 RPM.
Two other engines will be offered in the 2013 Cadillac ATS when it goes on sale next year, including a normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder and GM's tried-and-true 3.6-liter V6.
