Question Subaru STi or 2nd gen Aristo (lexus GS) V300?

Well I have a long history over several years with 4 Subaru Imprezas and I am very much wanting to go back to having one & love them, but while I really like my Celsior I'm going to sell it for either an Impreza STi GC8 or GDB OR a 2nd gen Aristo (GS model) V300 that's also turbo'd since I could get them for almost the same price range give or take. All bias aside which would you buy and why?

Commons:
- both have 4dr
- both have turbo
- both have cool looking interior

Impreza:
sporty, much lighter, possibly cheaper on JCI (japanese insurance) and road tax, I want to go in the snow with it to the mountains for snowboarding, prefer AWD honestly.

Aristo:
luxurious - status symbol kinda, spacious, considerably more for road tax (350$ compared to 80$ roughly) little more for JCI but not a big deal, maybe not so much a good idea for when it snows sometimes where I'll be moving to. BTW I can ONLY one 1 car while being in Japan. Otherwise I'd have both

I'm biased, but I vote Impreza.

I vote Aristo since you don't need AWD down there. Although I did have a RS200Z 6spd when I was at Misawa. lol

He did say he plans to go to the snow....

I also vote STi, even though many of us here would love to have an Aristo with the 2JZ-GTE from the factory.

Subaru STI since it's newer and has AWD.

I own a 2nd Gen GS right now, I don't particularly care for the STi eventhough it has great performance, but I'd still say get the STi for the manual transmission and driving dynamics.

GC8 and GDB are a generation apart so it makes a big difference. If you are gonna be in snow alot then take the Impreza, otherwise for everyday comfort and luxury while still getting that 2JZGTE kick, go with the Aristo.

Iirc the Aristos are all only 4spd auto though...

Check out the Chaser, turbo 4dr, big, looks IMO even better than GS...

lol trust me I know. I've owned nothing but GC8s and would love to get a GDB this time around if the price is right.

I do like the 96-00 chasers but in Okinawa its a little harder to find them in manual with a turbo as they're primarily auto

I don't know how often I will, but I'll have more of an opportunity to go auto-x more than I have had here in Okinawa. Sounds like I'll probably go back to subaru lol
