Lol, this fishmobile was initially barred from being sold in Stateside because the DOT/NHTSA stated that the car does not have an airbag

Then a day later, Pagani said that they will decide to pursue installation of an airbag costing additional USD$4,000,000 cost of investment for the said installation. The launch of the fishmobile will be delayed by one year to make way for the installation

It also made me laugh before. Pagani sells a car for a million bucks price tag yet it doesn't even have an airbag. Seriously, are we still in the 20th century???

The Huayara has airbags in all models, it was designed with them. It does not have "advanced" airbags, as required in all models sold in the US as of this time...
The 5.7 million (it was 4 million euro) is what it is going to cost them to refit the Huayara with advanced airbags, which it was originally designed to accommodate, but did not include...

Perhaps you should read closer...

I guess this was about multi-stage airbags then.
Well imho, it seemed to appear that Pagani wanted to ask for an exemption. Well, imho, it's still not an excuse. You're charging such a huge price tag and yet they can't even offer what I presume something that even a Nissan Versa has?

The other thing is that they only plan on selling 15 of these in the US... I'm not surprised they are waiting til 2013 to bring the car here... it probably has something to do with cost vs. profits along with research...

One would think huh... Lamborghini, Tesla, Panoz and Koenigsegg already have this exemption though, so, Pagani was just trying to get a couple years worth of model sales before they got it installed...

Well if I were Pagani, I would comply instead of fighting the regulations and not get my car sold.

It is one hell of a machine. I can't wait to see what this baby does on the Top Gear test track.

Not to nitpick but what does this car have that a Veyron Supersport does not have?
If we're talking on a purely performance standpoint, I can't see how Pagani beats the Veyron SS.
Someone tell me
