So Honda thought Civic is a Porsche 911 or a Jaguar XJ, no need to change the look because the design is so well accepted? And making the taillights look like a cheap American car in the 90s help? Total failure. There are more difference between the eighth gen JDM Civic and the eighth gen USDM Civic than this one. I think the highly ranked officials of Honda might be some undercovers from Toyota or Hyundai to continuously and intentionally digress the company into wrong routes.

Default Hybrid earns 44 city 44 highway rating making Insight irrelevant LOL

It's not 50 miles per gallon (rest, easy Prius), but the mpg numbers for the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid impress us nonetheless: 44/44/44. That's city/highway/combined, and it's a nice jump –especially in the city –from the 40/43/41 numbers sported by the 2011 model. The New York Auto Show this week has been full of "40 mpg" claims from many automakers, but these have mostly described just one of the three ratings categories (usually highway). To have Honda announce you get an estimated 44 miles to the gallon no matter how you drive deserves a bit of praise. (Golf clap.) The reason for the fuel economy boost lies, in part, with the upgraded battery pack used in the Honda Integrated Motor Assist system. Instead of the nickel-metal hydride batteries used in previous Civic Hybrids, the '12 version cruises along with 20-kW worth of li-ion cells. Compared to the NiMH pack, the lithium-ion battery is 5 kW more powerful and also a bit lighter. The gas engine has also been upgraded from 1.3 liters to a 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder, and the full system offers 110 combined horsepower at 5,500 rpm. There are also some design tweaks on the exterior.

It also starts at 24k, so hardly makes Insight irrelevant....

Hmm, forgot the Hybrid had gotten that high which makes the Civic H overpriced. Honda can't seem to get anything right.

So Civic hybrid starts $2,300 more than a Prius starts at.

Is there any wonder why both the Civic H and Insight barely sell?

Who the hell is running that company? It makes no sense. They have no concept of reality of the market today. They seem to be gunning for loyal fanbois and that is it. To hell with being a leader. Its like the old GM executives work there now.

They are so full of monkey crap. They tell their fanbois and the press they are more concerned with "ECO" but they do not LEAD with ECO. People "think" they do, they don't. Ford, Hyundai, Toyota is all more ECO.

Then they continue to sell big Accord Crossturds, Pilots, Rimjobs etc.

Its utter bullcrap.

A new 2012 Civic hybrid gets 44mpg which is 2 MPG less than the LAST PRIUS at a comparable price.

+1 I loved the interior of my 95 accord. That h22 was a gem too.

Honda only excels in the reliability and build quality department and the competition is playing a tough game of catch up.

You're not kidding.

Here's a 12 year old Neon for comparison

10 year old Camry...Even the clear lens strip through the middle is nearly identical to this Camry.

Or how about an 8 year old Chevy Cobalt...

I could keep going too. This was a common design theme on numerous models. 8-12 years ago!

That's probably the worst looking interior I have seen in a while. The current Civic interior already is a joke but this is just ridiculous.....

Not to mention the current Civic looks fresher then this pile of ****.

No di in the stang, ford said it doesn't need it, and that it makes good power w/ o it. Ford said they'll add it in the future for a power bump and a mpg bump.
