What happened to Honda!??? This car doesn't look too bad, just very plain. BUT- in comparison to their previous generation cars, they've messed up pretty much everything. Accord, Odyssey, any Acura (TL especially- going from great looking IMO to this ugly heap of metal they're calling the TL now). Oh well, won't pass final judgment 'til I see official pics.

I've been wondering the same thing. Both Honda and Acura have gone off in strange styling directions, both interior and exterior.
I guess if people continue to buy them, they'll keep doing what they do. But at some point they are going to burn through their reputation and sales are going to take a nose dive. I wonder if Car and Driver will lavish and heap praise upon the new Civic.

After seeing the above photo, it's even worse. The only way a new car could be made that ugly is if it was done on purpose. So this is what I must conclude. Honda has some new secret scheme to use reverse psychology to sell cars.

I think there was an article that Honda has newly-grads penning their cars in SoCal - and it said a 26 year old USC grad was behind either the Acura beak/ZDX or Honda's design studio. It was posted here.

But in any case, what is most strange and sad is Acura has now had several years to deal with the negative feedback and poor sales. What have they done to respond? Put more beaks on their line. Instead of rectifying the problem, they are going in deeper and deeper. That is a disturbing clue as to how serious this corporate problem really is.

I need to see the new one in person. Hopefully it will look better.
YTD thru Sept. Honda has sold nearly 200,000 Civics, I doubt things will change with the new model. It will continue to sell well.
