The Coupe rear reminds me of the Altima Coupe rear. Kind of strange and harsh around the bottom corners. Hope they tone that down for production.

Report: 2012 Honda Civic Si getting new 2.4L engine with 200 hp
Report: 2012 Honda Civic Si getting new 2.4L engine with 200 hp
Honda gave us a preview of its 2012 Civic at this year's Detroit Auto Show, and while the car we saw on stage was technically a "concept," we expect the production car to look very similar, albeit with more conventional wheels, headlamps, and, you know, an interior. Instead of just showing one Civic, Honda brought out both a sedan and Si coupe concept, and now our friends at Temple of VTEC have reportedly confirmed that a new 2.4-liter mill is on deck for the sportiest of Civics.
Known internally as "K24," the 2.4-liter engine slated for Civic Si use will be very similar to the powerplant currently used in the Acura TSX. No official power numbers have been divulged, but this engine currently makes 201 horsepower in the TSX, so we'll bet that Civic Si output will be somewhere between 200 and 210 hp. That isn't a huge increase over the 197 hp currently available from the Si's 2.0-liter four, but the 2.4-liter engine should prove to be a bit torquier. Look for something along the lines of 170 pound-feet in the 2012 model, whereas the current car only produces 139 lb-ft of twist.
Official data will be revealed closer to the Civic family's launch later this year. And while these new Si numbers aren't leaps and bounds better than what's currently available, the easily flickable driving dynamics and rev-happy power should still make it an engaging steer.

If the 2.4L is going in the Si model, then what the heck are the LX and EX models getting? Those are the bread and butter models. If anything, they should at least get a 1.8L version with >160hp and >140ftlb.
Although the ITR has less than 170ftlb, it also made 195-200hp back in 14 years ago in a 1.8L platform using a dated B-series architecture.

200hp? Current Si got 197....so it was up 3?
Honda still doesn't seems to get the sport compact market, they got an F/I engine in the RDX....and couldn't put it in an Si their so-called "sport car"?

So they have decided to put a family car engine into their only true sports car? Unless this new 2.4 four cylinder could spin to 8000rpm otherwise this new Civic Si would be no more than a truncated TSX. The Nissan Juke with that 188hp 1.6L turbo engine sounds more sporty to me.

Well folks it's here

Looks like they took a conservative redesign and outright copy the previous gen Camry with the rear.

It's amazing that out of all the things to copy, Honda decided to copy the rear end of the 5th gen Camry.
The front end looks identical to the current Civic, and the rear end is more bland than the current Civic.
Overall while I have no interest in this, it does look more like an actual car and less like a spaceship. Therefore, I predict it will sell well and appeal to people because of it's bland inoffensive design. That is of course if buyers are not turned off by the interior. The interior from spy photos looked quite ugly, so we'll see how this turns out.

This is a complete and utter disappointment.
So after a 6 year life of the current model (which I love), Honda takes a step backward and designs the ugliest Civic in modern history.
This was Honda's last chance to show they weren't led by visually impaired designers. Well, this proves they are. So sad. This car should have been a big leap forward to compete with these real designs...
2012 Ford Focus...
2011 Hyundai Elantra...
2011 Chevy Cruze...
Honda is done.
Very, very good design. None of the others are bad looking, but Ford definitely has a superior design.....both inside and out.
