I forget exactly, but mine is around $275 or so for my 03 GS430. We have a weight tax, so the heavier the car the more expensive it will be.

$336 in CA for my '08 IS250. They should just send my tax return right back where it came from and save the postage.

I'll agree that most people don't consider the insurance and registration aspects of a vehicle when they purchase it, even though I believe the purchase agreement does state the approximate registration for that year. I got my registration for my '08 F a few weeks back and started comparing to the '11 Avalon I got my parents...and it's the same. I know there's a few years in between, but damn! I didn't expect the Avalon to carry so high a registration.

How is Arnold to blame? He worked to cut spending in a bankrupt state due to the big spenders before him. Thanks.

Massachusetts is $25 a year flat rate (billed as $50 every 2 years).

We do have a yearly excise tax which isn't that bad. My '07 Toyota is $47 this year.

Here in IL it recently jumped to about $100/yr for cars - was $78 for a while.

My motorcycle is $46/yr w/ a personalized plate, otherwise it'd be like $39.

No complaints here.

Well us Alabamians got all of "Yaw" beat..

$23.00 for car
$15.00 for motorcycle

If you're military or veteran; 1st vehicle is free and $23.00 for each additional after the 1st freebie..

Wow!

Did you at least get a reach around when they bent you over?

Just renewed my registration on one of my commercial tags with a personalized plate....$82.

They are high, but they're based a percentage of 60% of the value of the vehicle. It's also what pays for most of our roads and the great quality of them. In contrast with many states, AZ hasn't really raised rates. They've sucked for a long time.

You know, I don't like you very much (JK). Our corporate tags don't get any breaks. One previous business I owned had tag fees in excess of $12K a year. Looking to my future corporate plans, I would venture that would be a low number to me relatively soon. Sad, but true. CODB, though, so I'm happy to do it.

qft. i lived in PA many years ago. worst roads i'd seen anywhere. it should be called "the pothole state"

i bet some places end up making it MORE expensive for older cars (or end up being flat) because they will say older cars cause more 'global warming'.

that is just unbelievable, and sad. still, you have to pay for the minimal border enforcement your states does since the feds do jack squat.

calis registration fee is more like a property tax which is based on the value of your car.

Here its like $65 flat fee in Texas for either the TSX, LX470, or my IS350

that's the way it should be...get some of the POS buckets off the road sooner and encourage people to buy newer cars to help the economy
