Not necessary. Slick tires don't have any tread or thread, worn out tires don't have any either

The tires on my Duc are
Pirelli Angel ST .
They start of with one tread pattern, and depending on how you ride, develop a new tread pattern showing either an Angel or a Devil.
Guess which kind of tread I have on it now...

Well cars don't always have brakes. For instance a runaway Toyota doesn't have brakes, it has teh breaks
